At Something You, we do things differently than any other salon in our area.
We set out to change the narrative of working in a commission salon. Gone are the days of working 7 days a week, being controlled by the salon owner, and treated like a number. Our culture is personal, up beat, supportive, friendly, and
drama free.

We don't believe that stylists' options should be to stay at a toxic salon or drown on your own in a suite. Suites are fantastic for some, but not meant for everyone! At Something You, we're known for breaking industry norms and that is why we envisioned a brand new concept with the goal of creating the best possible place to work on the Main Line.
Our stylists have the private space and independence of a salon suite - choose your services, set your pricing, come and go between clients! They also have the support of a salon team - Front desk and assistant staff, business coaching if desired (not required), PAID marketing bringing in new clients. All of this with NO OVERHEAD. Forget the crazy suite rent and product cost - we've got that covered.

Work/Life balance is everything and we respect that each person's definition of "success" is different. We strive for all team members to feel successful, positive, and fulfilled in their career. We support our team's financial goals with a 401K match as well as the opportunity for life insurance, and disability (maternity leave). We believe vacations are important and provide one week of paid vacation and unlimited unpaid time off.

MEET THE OWNER
Hi, I'm Allison McAllister! If you know me, you know the thought of putting my picture here and introducing myself is WAY out of my comfort zone, but here goes!

First and foremost I'm married to my high school sweetheart and a Mom to our 4 crazy boys! When I'm not working behind my computer, you'll find me running from sport to sport or hitting up an event at the kids' school! I'm obsessed with vacations and visit Disney World pretty much every year. I love Broadway show tunes, Classic Rock, and dancing with my husband to live music.

I'm not your typical salon owner. Since starting my career in 2006, I've worked in several salons and in different aspects of the beauty industry. It has become my goal to change it. My mission is to break down dated industry norms and create opportunities for ALL stylists to be respected, celebrated, and appreciated. I have set out to make my salon the absolute best career opportunity on the Main Line - one that affords the team an exceptional work/life balance, encourages vacations, and promotes financial stability and goal crushing.

One of the highlights of my career thus far was being named a Woman of Influence Award Winner in 2023 for creating a positive work environment that’s flexible enough for stylists to spend time with their families AND still earn a great income. Learn more about my vision in the article below.
